Operating a payment gateway and processing customer transactions carries inherent legal and tax compliance risks. 3. Non-Custodial Platform
OwnPay is a self-hosted software application and does not act as a payment processor, bank, money transmitter, or custodian of your funds. All transactions are routed directly through your configured third-party payment gateways and acquirers. OwnPay does not touch, hold, clear, or settle any funds processed by your storefronts.
4. Limitation of Liability
In no event shall the authors, maintainers, copyright holders, or contributors of OwnPay be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, or consequential damages (including, but not limited to, loss of profits, data leaks, server hacks, accounting errors, ledger imbalances, or business interruption) however caused and on any theory of liability, whether in contract, strict liability, or tort, arising in any way out of the use of this software, even if advised of the possibility of such damage.
5. Third-Party Plugins and Gateways
OwnPay supports integration with various third-party gateways and plugins. We do not inspect, guarantee, or maintain third-party systems or external services. Any integration with external APIs or payment processors is done at your own risk and discretion.
